Obituary

Miriam A. (Sloan) English, a 50 year resident of Charlestown, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at her home in Charlestown. She was 75 years old.

Miriam was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey where she grew up and attended schools. Miriam worked for more than 30 years as a Home Health Aide in the North Shore area until her failing health caused her to retire.

Miriam is the devoted mother of James Patrick English and his spouse Jacquie Rafferty, Frances V. English and her spouse Philip Polizzi, Wanda Lee English and Christopher J. English and his spouse Darlene Sampson. She is the loving grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Miriam's Funeral on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Friday, November 11, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m.
