Neil “Big Neil” McLaughlin, entered into eternal life on September 30th, 2026. He was 75 years old.

Born in Peterborough, England, he came to Charlestown, Massachusetts at age 16 aboard the Queen Mary with his parents the late Edward and Elizabeth (Rogers), and his siblings. He was a loving companion to Eileen McDonald of Charlestown and Port St. Lucie, Florida. Neil was a devoted father to Neil and his wife Nicole (Campbell), Kenneth and his wife Jill (Twomey), and his deceased son Timothy “Timmy” and Timmy’s life partner, Melissa Donahue. He took tremendous pride in his role as “Grandad” to his grandchildren: Nathan, Ashley, Haley, Pheobe, Madison, Aurora, Kenneth Jr., McKenzie (his “little peanut”), and Kiley.

Neil is lovingly remembered by his oldest brother Patrick and his late wife Ann; his brother Edward and wife Pauline; James’ life partner Cindy O’Brien; his sister Colleen Sweeney and husband Kevin; and many cherished nieces and nephews. He has gone to meet his twin brother James “Jimmy”, and his sister Mary Dillon and her husband Bernie.

Neil proudly served as an Army Reservist and later retired from Laborers Union Local #223. His greatest joys were spending time with his grandchildren, sharing how proud he was of each of them.

Neil has chosen to forgo a traditional service, preferring that loved ones remember him in their own private way.
