Obituary

Peter F. Mansfield Jr., a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 67 years of age.

Peter was born in Boston on June 30, 1950, a son of the late Peter F. Mansfield and Frances (Evers) Mansfield. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1969. Peter worked as a Custodian for over 20 years for the City of Boston with the Boston Police Department and the Boston School Department. Peter was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed the many sports activities in Charlestown that he was involved in. Peter could always be seen walking around Charlestown and greeting people with his gentle and unassuming manor.

Peter is the devoted brother of Henry Mansfield and his wife Joyce, Donna Marino and her husband Mike, Janet Lakeman and her husband Dan, James Mansfield and his wife Virginia, Kellie Houlihan and her husband Joseph and the late Paul Mansfield and Thomas Mansfield. Peter is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Peter's visiting hours on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 4 to 8 P.M. with his Funeral Service at 7:30 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will be private.
