Obituary

Philip L. King, Jr., of Charlestown, died Monday, July 10, after a series of strokes.

He is survived by his partner of 34 years, Anne Mahoney, and his brother, Andrew P. King of Bloomington, Indiana. Phil was born in Baltimore in 1941, received the AB in mathematics, cum laude, from Harvard in 1962, and lived in Boston ever since. With an income suf?cient that he never needed to work, he spent his time reading, listening to music, cooking, and managing his investments. He rode his bicycle everywhere, and kept both it and the house in good repair. He was fond of animals and lived with cats through hi sadult life. He and Anne met at Tech Squares, and spent many years square dancing together at levels up to C4.

There will be no services.
