Firefighter Albert P. ''Alby'' Shea

Retired Scituate Firefighter Albert P. "Alby" Shea, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at his sister's home in Charlestown. He was 81 years of age.
Alby was born in Boston on March 2, 1943, a son of the late Albert P. Shea and Anna C. (Budreau) Shea. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1961. Alby was appointed to the Scituate Fire Department and served most of his career in the Humarock section of Scituate firehouse. He retired following over 25 years of dedicated service to the Town of Scituate. He was a member of the Medford/Malden Lodge of Elks. In his spare time, Alby enjoyed playing cards and socializing.
Alby is the devoted brother of Ann Griffin and her late husband Bill and Carole Coleman and her husband John. He is the loving uncle to Caroleann Griffin, Diane Mahoney, Sandra McLaughlin, Christine Vraibel, Joseph Griffin, Michelle Crowley, Patricia Fairbrother and his many grandnieces and grandnephews. He is the dear cousin of Snooky McCabe, Edith Cirame and Betsy Titcomb. He is also a dedicated longtime friend to Mary Walsh.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Alby's Funeral Mass on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 12 Noon in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial is private. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
