Firefighter, James P. "Jimmy" Considine Jr.

Retired Somerville Firefighter, James P. "Jimmy" Considine Jr., a 13 year resident of Wakefield and former longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 63 years old.
Jimmy was born in Boston on June 9, 1951, a son of the late James P. Considine and Marion (Powers) Considine. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School. Jimmy joined the Somerville Fire Department on February 2, 1974 where he served the City of Somerville on Tower # 1 for over 29 years of dedicated service and retired in August of 2003. He was a retired member of Somerville Firefighters Union Local # 76. He was also a longtime member of The International Longshoreman's Union Local # 799. Jimmy enjoyed traveling to Florida and spending most of his time on the beach but most of all in his life he enjoyed the quality moments he was able to share with his grandchildren.
Jimmy is the beloved husband of 38 years to Patricia A. "Tisha" (Ryan) Considine. He is the devoted father of Katelyn Considine of Wakefield and the late James P. Considine III. He is the loving Papa to Shaylin, Shane, Brianna and Madison Considine. He is the beloved brother of Maureen Stillman of Charlestown and the late Patrick Considine. He is the loving Uncle Buck to his many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his beloved dog Roxy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jimmy's Funeral on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Visiting hours will be on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 3 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
