Police Patrolman Raymond F. "Ray" Mccullough

Retired Boston Police Patrolman Raymond F. "Ray" McCullough, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, Veterans Day, November 11, 2020 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford. He was 84 years of age.
Ray was born in Boston on March 23, 1936, a son of the late James McCullough and Marion E. (Burns) McCullough. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated throughout the Boston Public School system. Ray enlisted into the United States Marine Corps on May 3, 1956 and served his country faithfully and with courage during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged on May 2, 1962 with the rank of Corporal. Ray joined the Boston Police Department on March 11, 1964 and served most of his career in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston and was also admired by many as a beat cop in Roslindale Square for many years. He retired in 2001 following 37 years of dedicated service to the City of Boston. Ray was a proud Townie and was always willing to let a person know where he grew up and where his roots belong.
Ray is the beloved son of the late James McCullough and Marion E. (Burns) McCullough. He is the devoted brother of Doris Butterworth and the late Marion Pigott, James McCullough and Arthur McCullough. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ray's Graveside Service at Holy Cross Cemetery, 175 Broadway, Malden on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 11 A.M. (PLEASE MEET INSIDE MAIN GATE OF CEMETERY OFF BROADWAY NO LATER THAN 10:45 A.M.) (FACIAL COVERINGS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED.)
