Obituary

Robert H. "Bob" Kane Jr., a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Care One Nursing Home in Peabody. He was 80 years of age.

Bob was born in Boston on May 30, 1943, a son of the late Robert H. Kane and Margaret (Canty) Kane. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School System. Bob was the owner of Kane Fence Company for over 60 years, specializing in chain link and stockade fences. He was a proud member of the Charlestown Militia.

Bob is the beloved husband of the late Judith (Hastie) Kane and the late Roberta (Eatherton) Schofield. He is the devoted father of Melinda Kane, and the late Robert H. Kane III and Angelique Kane. He is the loving Papa of Dylan Kane. He is the dear brother of Patricia Murphy, Margaret Kelsey, John Lounsberry, Lois Poste, Marie Centola, and the late Kenneth Lounsberry, Ellen Lounsberry, James Lounsberry, and Shirley Doody. Also, he is a brother of Daniel Kane, William Kane, Robert Kane and Michael Kane. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bob's visiting hours on Friday morning, September 1, 2023 from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass at 12 Noon in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown. His burial will be private.
