Obituary

Rosemary C. Houghton, a longtime resident of Somerville and formerly of Charlestown, passed into eternal life on Monday, April 9, 2012 at Annemark Nursing Home in Revere after a lengthy illness. She was 74 years old.

Rosemary was born in Boston on November 1, 1937 to the late William and Rose (Canny) Houghton both formerly of Donegal, Ireland. She grew up in Charlestown and attended the Boston Public School system. Rosemary worked for many years as a bookeeper for H.P. Hood Milk Company in Charlestown.

Rosemary is the beloved daughter of the late William Houghton and Rose (Canny) Houghton. She is the beloved sister of the late Catherine McDonough and her surviving husband Patrick of Braintree. Rosemary is also survived by many cousins living in Donegal, Ireland and locally.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Rosemary on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
