Obituary

Shirley J. (DeSimone) Murray, a 57 year resident of Charlestown and formerly of Everett, entered into eternal life on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was 81 years of age.

Shirley was born in Everett on July 18, 1935, a daughter of the late Frank DeSimone and Marjorie (Hillson) Desimone. She grew up in Everett where she was educated in the Everett Public School system and graduated from Everett High School. Shirley was a homemaker who took great pride in caring for her husband and 3 children. She also enjoyed reading and exercising in her spare time.

Shirley is the beloved wife of 57 years to Paul M. Murray. She is the devoted mother of Michael Murray of Charlestown, Paula Murray of Winthrop, and the late Donna Aldrin. She is the loving Nana to Jaime Goodman and her husband James, Michael Murray, Melissa Murray, and her great-granddaughters Jenna Bureman and Jaci Goodman. She is the beloved sister of Gail Fantasia of Everett and the late Bette Sacco. Shirley is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Shirley's Funeral Service at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. Her visiting hours will be on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
