Thomas J. "Tom" Carroll, a longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Katzman Family Center for Living in Chelsea. He was 75 years of age.
Tom was born in Boston on January 2, 1949, a son of the late Ralph R. Carroll and Helen B. (Addison) Carroll. He lived in several different areas of the country during his childhood before settling into Charlestown at a young age. Tom worked as a paper cutter for Graphic Arts Finishers at Sullivan Square in Charlestown for 40 years and retired in 2018. He coached Charlestown youth hockey and was an avid Boston sports fan watching the Bruins and Red Sox.
Tom is the beloved husband of Doris N. Shea. He is the father of Kerry Aderhold and her husband James and Boston Firefighter Tommy Carroll and his wife Deanna. He is the grandfather of Devon, Brittany, Katie, Thomas and his great-grandson Jax. He is the brother of Helen Dunham and her husband Doug and Ralph Carroll.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tom's visiting hours on Saturday morning, April 27, 2024, from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. followed by a Funeral Service at 11 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial is private.
In lieu of flowers, kindly make a memorial donation in Tom's name to The Charlestown Boys & Girls Club, 15 Green St. Charlestown, Mass. 02129
