Obituary

Thomas M. Whelan Jr., a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. He was 36 years old.

Tom was born in Boston on December 28, 1976, a son of Thomas M. Whelan and Christine (O'Donnell) Whelan. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system. Tom was working as a roofer and was a 17 year member of the Roofers Union Local # 33.

Tom is the beloved son of Thomas M. Whelan and Christine (O'Donnell) Whelan. He is the loving father of Brenna Catherine Whelan and Kyleigh Christine Whelan. He is the devoted brother of Robert E. Whelan. He is the loving uncle of Robert E. Whelan Jr. He is the beloved grandson of Emmett Whelan and Theresa (Kiehle) Whelan and the late James and Christine O'Donnell. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tom's Funeral on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Interment is private. Visiting hours Friday, July 26, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
