Virginia T. "Ginger" (DeJesus) Wachoski, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Monday January 29, 2007 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a lengthy illness. She was 80 years old.

Ginger was born in Boston on April 17, 1926. She grew up in Charlestown, where she attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School. She worked for many years for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority beginning as a laborer working on the rails. Ginger then began working in thier business offices and after 25 years of service, she retired in 2004 as a division clerk, for the engineering and maintenance division. She was a member of The Old Charlestown Schoolgirls Association.

Ginger was the beloved wife of the late Alois Wachoski. She is the devoted mother of Paula Rodriguez-Civitareale of Malden, Marcus Wachoski and his wife Kathleen of Philipston, Starr O'Malley of California and the late Paul "Sonny" Rodriguez and Alois Wachoski. She is the loving grandmother of 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Mary Gonzales of California, Ricardo DeJesus of Andover, Ernestine Nocon of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Alicia MacDonald of New Hampshire and the late Domingo DeJesus. She is the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Ginger's Funeral will be held on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 9 a.m. from the Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Ginger will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
