Obituary

William F. Canty, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Spaulding Nursing and Therapy Center in the North End of Boston following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 77 years old.

William was born in Boston on August 17, 1937, a son of the late Simon Canty and Marion (Burnham) Canty. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended the Boston Public School System. William was employed as a window washer for most of his life.

William is the beloved brother of Simon P. Canty and his wife Ellen of Quincy, John Canty of Charlestown, Catherine Kennedy and her husband Richard of Everett, and the late George Canty, Mary Houston, and Barbara Wadwell. William is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

William's funeral services will be private.
